A note about the Taniwha; Taniwha are considered by many to be mythical, however some Mâori consider them to be spiritual creatures. These resources aren’t intended to impart belief of either view. It’s for this reason that graphics (visual representation) of the Taniwha aren’t generally included in Story Resources. Far from detracting from the story, this actually adds the element of imagination as the children engage their meta cognitive skills.
