Like everyone we too have been asked about sponsorship by some very deserving groups. However we have very little margin in the resources we make and sell to you at wholesale rates. For this reason we do not have any extra to give away, but we do have man power, enthusiasm and a willingness to make a difference. We have chosen to support the following groups:
Ronald McDonald House Story Resources donate every cents of it recyclable cartridge and toner products directly to Ronald McDonald House Charities. This is also part of our effort to reduce waste and to respect and conserve our environment.
Ronald McDonald House Charities is a child focused charity that aims to improve the health and wellbeing of New Zealand children by initiating and supporting programs that positively impact on the lives of children and their families.
The cornerstone project of the Charity in New Zealand is the three Ronald McDonald Houses, one in Auckland, one in Wellington and one in Christchurch. Each year these Houses care for over 3,000 families of children undergoing hospital treatment at Auckland Starship Children's Hospital, Wellington Hospital or Christchurch Public Hospital.
Ronald McDonald House Charities: Incorporated under the Charitable Trusts Act 1957 - AK/450226.
Superkids Trust Superkids provide school holiday care for children at a very low cost (only $7 per day) this covers much of the food and craft equipment that is available daily. However to ensure that equipment, bouncy castle mini motor bikes etc are maintained they seek outside funding through the local community.
124 Preschools in (Manu) Samoa Story Resources has an ongoing project with the Ministry of Education in Samoa to provide all 124 preschools with educational teaching resources at no cost.
Over the years I have been fortunate to visit many of the smaller south pacific countries. Recently I had the opportunity to visit Samoa, where I spent 3 days with the Preschool Advisor from the Ministry of Education discussing resources, curriculum and visiting preschools. Like any developing country Samoa really doesn’t have a lot. But each and every one of us can make a small difference. Utumoa and I have spearheaded a, voluntary not for profit, project that has started to reach the hearts of other like minded people.
The first photo below was taken during a session. Generally the children sit in the large group circle for almost half the morning. Almost all teaching is verbal, singing songs introducing themselves etc. After this time the children separate into small age groups where they work on the alphabet, counting etc. the whole things is very ‘mini primary school’ . One of the reasons for this practice is that there are almost no resources. What you see on the walls in these photo’s is all there is! No I’m not kidding no toys, no dress ups, no play dough, no paints, no sand pit …… but lots of caring teachers. Everyone together for the first half of the morning

The 2 year olds during age group time
And not a 'toy' in sight!
